An archived version of the tweet can be seen here. Newschecker first ran a reverse image search of the picture, which led us to the tweet by Irani on September 18, 2022, where she posted the same photo. The two images are an exact copy, but for the cover of the book that Irani is holding. The book in her hand in the picture is titled “Modi@20”. An archived version of the tweet can be found here. On running a keyword search for “Modi@20”, we found multiple results that displayed the same book, which stated it was published in April 2022. According to a Hindustan Times report, ‘Modi @ 20: Dreams Meet Delivery’, published by Rupa Publications, is a compilation of chapters authored by eminent intellectuals and domain experts on PM Narendra Modi’s years in public office. “Union home Minister Amit Shah, minister of external affairs S. Jaishankar, national security advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, actor Anupam Kher, Olympic athlete PV Sindhu and singer Lata Mangeshkar are among the many who have contributed to a special book to commemorate the 20 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in public life,” the report read. While running a similar keyword search for the book on Rahul Gandhi as shown in the viral image, we did not find any relevant reports, confirming that such a book does not exist and that the viral image was edited.
