  • Fact Check: Viral Street Play Video Falsely Claims Murder Of RSS Supporter Woman In Kerala Vishvas News investigated the viral video and discovered that it is a scene from a street play and not a real incident. Earlier also, this video has been circulated with similar fake claims and propaganda, which Vishvas News had fact checked and debunked. - By: Umam Noor - Published: Jul 2, 2024 at 05:44 PM New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video is going viral on social media, in which some people can be seen pulling a woman out of a car and allegedly shooting her. Users are sharing the viral video saying that this video is from Kerala, where a woman supporting Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was murdered by people of a particular religion. Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral video is a scene from a street play and not a recording of not of any real incident. What Is In The Viral Post? A Facebook user shared the viral post with the caption, “In Kerala, a woman supporting RSS was dragged out of her car and shot by Muslims in the middle of the market. After that, Hindus were warned that if anyone supports RSS and BJP, this is what will happen to him. For how long Modi ji…. in Kashmir, Bengal, Kerala and now in the country’s capital Delhi too, in broad daylight…. for how long…. wherever this Congress India government is, it is like this everywhere. But under BJP government, it is not as safe as Jaipur. For how long…. Sanatanis, you will not make it 4 instead of 1. You will keep dying. Vande Mataram Team.” View the archived version of the post here . Investigation: Starting our investigation, we used Google Lens to search the keyframes of the viral video. This led us to a related news article published on the website of Hindustan Times. The frames of the viral video can also be seen in the article published on October 1, 2017. The news quoted a report by the Malayalam newspaper ‘Matribhoomi’, which stated, “Nothing in the viral video is real and neither is the woman dead. The video is a clip of a street play performed by the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) at Kalikavu in Malappuram. The street play was a staging of the murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead outside her home in Bengaluru on September 5.” On this basis, we furthered our investigation and found the viral video uploaded on the Facebook page of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on 8 September 2017. According to the information given here too, it is confirmed that this is a scene from a street play. We have already fact-checked the viral video and at that time we had contacted Feroz Khan, editor of Kerala’s Madhyamam Daily. He stated, “This is a very old matter and the video is not of any true incident, but of a street play.” During social media scanning of the Facebook user who shared the fake post, we found that the user is followed by more than 1700 people. Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated the viral video and discovered that it is a scene from a street play and not a real incident. Earlier also, this video has been circulated with similar fake claims and propaganda, which Vishvas News had fact checked and debunked. - Claim Review : This video is from Kerala, where a woman supporter of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been murdered by people of a particular religion. - Claimed By : FB User- Tapas Malas - Fact Check : False Know the truth!
