New Delhi, Vishvas News – A video is going viral, purportedly showing damage in Ayodhya amidst the ongoing monsoon in the country. The havoc of severe rain and flood, with a road appearing badly damaged and a subway filled with water can be seen in the video. The video is being shared with the claims that it shows the plight after the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Vishwas News thoroughly investigated the viral video and found that the video, which is being falsely attributed to Ayodhya is of Dubai, and is also available online under the same context. Our investigation confirmed that the viral post is fake and Ayodhya Police have also denied its authenticity.
What Is Going Viral
On July 21, 2024, the Facebook page Fastway Post posted a video with the caption, “This has happened after the construction of Ram Mandir. Another layer of donation and business has been exposed. Ayodhya Prabhu Shri Ram Mandir Marg.”
The viral post has been written exactly as it was shared and other users are also sharing it considering it to be true. See the archive version of the viral post here.
Investigation:
To verify the authenticity of the viral post, Vishwas News first extracted key frames from the video and searched them using Google Lens. We found a part of the viral video on a YouTube channel, posted on April 21, and attributed to UAE. The full video was also found on a YouTube channel, uploaded on April 21, 2023, and was attributed to Dubai.
Additionally, we found a denial from Ayodhya Police on their ‘X’ handle, posted on July 21, stating, “#Ayodhyapolice denies the false news circulated on certain Twitter handles and social media. The video shown in the tweet is not from Ayodhya. A case has been registered against the person who spread the misleading news.”
Vishwas News took the investigation further and contacted Dainik Jagran, Ayodhya’s editorial in-charge Rama Sharan Awasthi. He confirmed that the viral video was not from Ayodhya and the claim made in the post was fake. Vishwas News does not independently confirm the origin of the viral video, but the video certainly has no connection with Ayodhya.
Concluding our investigation, we reviewed the Facebook page, which shared the viral post and discovered that this page is followed by more than 20000 followers and is operated from Moga, Punjab.
Conclusion: Vishvas News has determined that the viral post is fake and has no connection with Ayodhya.
