Did Lebanese citizens celebrate the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah? That’s what a video now going viral allegedly shows. In it, two women can be seen singing in Arabic with a crowd of people holding flags.
An X user wrote alongside the video: "Lebanese citizens are also celebrating the kotletification [sic] of the tyrant Nasrallah. Well deserved! Party all night." Its archive can be seen here.
Nasrallah was killed in Israeli air strikes on September 27 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Our Probe
With the help of reverse search and keywords, we found the video shared on TikTok by user “k.reem” on January 20, 2020. This means the video can not have anything to do with Nasrallah’s death. The TikTok user captioned the video with words and hashtags like “revolution”, “Lebanon”, and “anger”.
While scanning the profile, we found several other videos of the same woman seen in the video. On September 29, the woman clarified in a TikTok post that her video was being circulated with the misleading claim that she celebrated the Hezbollah chief’s death in Lebanon. She further added that the video was from 2020 and showed the Lebanese revolution. She also wrote that she no longer lives in Lebanon.
The Lebanese Revolution began on 17 October 2019 and lasted for months. It was a series of anti-government protests in response to corruption and economic crises in the country.
Notably, there are reports that people in some parts of Syria celebrated the death of Nasrallah on the streets. However, it’s clear this four-year-old video of a protest in Lebanon does not show that.
