New Delhi (Vishvas News). A social media post is going viral, falsely claiming that Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has praised the UP administration for the Mahakumbh. In the viral video, he commends both the UP and Ludhiana administration.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found this claim to be false. In reality, Diljit praised the UP administration for his show in Lucknow, not for Mahakumbh.
What is going viral?
Facebook user ‘Shiv Sharan Shukla’ shared the viral video on February 11, 2025, with the caption, “Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh praises CM Yogi for excellent management in Mahakumbh.”

Investigation
To verify the authenticity of the viral video, we conducted a keyword search but did not find any statement by Diljit Dosanjh on Maha Kumbh in any report.
Following this, we conducted a Google Lens search of the viral video’s screenshots. This led us to a live video posted on Diljit Dosanjh’s official Instagram account on February 9, 2025, where he was wearing the same clothes. We decided to watch the full video. Around the 18-minute mark, a viewer asked him about performing in Lucknow, prompting Diljit to discuss his past show there. He then praised both the UP and Ludhiana administrations, while mentioning the mismanagement at a show held in Chandigarh. Notably, he didn’t mention the Maha Kumbh at any point during the live session.
We also found this clip in many Instagram posts, confirming that Diljit was referring to the management of Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024 at that time.
For further verification, we contacted Smita Srivastava, who covers the entertainment news for Dainik Jagran. She confirmed that this clip was taken from Diljit’s Instagram Live when he spoke about his Lucknow show during the Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024.
Finally, we scanned the Facebook account of user Shiv Sharan Shukla who shared the video with a false claim and found that the user has over 5500 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that Diljit Dosanjh praised the UP administration for efficient management during his show in Lucknow, not for the Maha Kumbh.
