Fact :The audio has been edited, the song crooned by Balakrishna is not Jagan’s campaign song.
Andhra Pradesh Assembly as well as Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held on May 13, 2024. AP has 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 assembly seats. It is a do-or-die battle for most of the candidates of various political parties. The manifesto released by the YSRC party promises to hike the welfare pension from Rs 3000 to Rs 3500 per month and make Vizag the executive capital. The TDP is promising Super Six assurances, including creation of 20 lakh jobs and a monthly unemployment stipend of Rs 3,000 if the party assumes power.
Amidst this, a video of Hindupur MLA and TDP MLA candidate and Tollywood actor Balakrishna singing on a dais is shared by several social media users with the claim that he is singing YSRC chief Jagan’s campaign song. In the video, we can see Balakrishna singing along with Telugu playback singer Geetha Madhuri. We can also see banners of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in the background and also see ‘Lepakshi’ on one of the backgrounds behind the singers.
Fact check:
The claim is False. Balkrishna is not singing YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s campaign song. The video is an old one.
When we used the extracted keyframes from the viral video and searched using reverse image search with the keywords, Balakrishna singing at an event, we found several YouTube videos showing the same visuals but a different song can be heard.
According to filmibeats.com, Balakrishna organized Lepakshi Utsavalu in his constituency, Hindupur, in 2016. He not only took care of every detail of the event but also performed live to entertain the audience. He sang a song live from his movie Dictator, along with Geetha Madhuri and Simha at the function.
We can hear the song in this YouTube video published on the channel ‘Nandamuri Balakrishna’ on February 29, 2016, with the title ‘Balakrishna Singing on Stage for his fans at Lepakshi Utsav 2016 at Hindupur Day 2’.

Here is the original video with the agenda song promoting YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the song heard in this video has been used to replace the original audio in the viral video.
Hence, the audio heard in the viral video has been manipulated adding a song promoting YS Jaganmohan Reddy to a video of Balakrishna singing a different song on stage. The claim that Balakrishna sang a song promoting YS Jaganmohan Reddy on stage is False.
