The news headline is a fabrication and is meant to be satirical. Fact Check: Ahead of Trump’s arraignment on Tuesday, the New York Police Department (NYPD) is preparing for the possibility of protests, The Hill reported. The NYPD issued a statement that officers are on alert but that there are “no current credible threats to New York City,” the outlet reported. The Twitter post claims that Trump refuses to be taken into custody. The post shares an image of the alleged article and claims it is being updated live with its last update being one minute prior to the screenshot. “‘I Will Not Go Quietly,'” the headline reads. “Nation on Edge as Trump Vows Last Stand from Trump Tower Applebee’s.” The claim stems from a satirical post. An earlier version of the post can be seen on a Reddit thread with the label, “It’s satire.” The post does not share the any specific news outlet along with the headline. There has been no press release from the Trump office that makes any such statement. Trump also did not make this claim on his verified Truth Social account. Trump is expected to be arranged at a New York courthouse Apr. 4 after he was indicted last week on over 30 counts stemming from a “hush money” payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels, according to The Guardian. This is not the first time misinformation involving presidents has spread online.
