Waiter: "I am just amazed because on the same table your daughter gave tip of $500 and you her father the richest man in the world gave just $5?" According to his biography in his blog 'GatesNotes', his father was an attorney. The bio says, "His dad, William H. His late mother, Mary Gates, was a schoolteacher, University of Washington regent, and chairwoman of United Way International." As per 'Biography.com', Gates grew up in an upper middle-class family.
