  • FACT CHECK: Did Prince Harry Attempt To Convince Cillian Murphy He Is British And Not Irish? A post shared on social media purportedly shows “Oppenheimer” actor Cillian Murphy arguing about his nationality with Prince Harry. Verdict: False The claim is inaccurate. The video has been edited to feature unrelated audio. Fact Check: Director Christopher Nolan’s latest film “Oppenheimer” now ranks in the top 10 highest-grossing R-rated movies of all time, The Collider reported. Some outlets speculate the film could surpass $1 billion after already reaching $600 million, according to Dexerto. The Facebook post shows the actor at a screening of his film “Dunkirk” in 2017. The cast is seen standing in front of the poster for the film when Prince Harry introduces himself and continually asks Murphy if he is British despite him telling the royal he is Irish. The video features a text overlay that reads, “Gotta love the Murphy falla. Was about to go all Thomas Shelby on Harry.” The claim is false. There is no credible news report that suggests this video is authentic. The footage of the two men meeting is real. The video dates back to the U.K. Premiere of Christopher Nolan’s World War II film “Dunkirk.” Prince Harry met the cast at the event including Murphy and singer Harry Styles. The alleged conversation did not occur during their meeting. The audio was taken from another interview that Murphy did during promotion for his 2010 film “Inception.” This interview was unrelated to Prince Harry. Check Your Fact found footage claiming to show NATO helicopters being shot down in Ukraine was actually footage of video game ARMA 3.
