A graphic purportedly published by News24 is being shared on the internet to claim that Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Sanjay Singh has recently said that former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal might slip into a coma.
The context: The claim comes after Kejriwal-led AAP lost the recently concluded 2025 Delhi assembly elections.
(More archives of similar such claims can be found here, here, and here.)
What is the truth?: The viral graphic is being shared without proper context.
The original one was shared in July 2024, when Singh had talked about Kejriwal's deteriorating health following his arrest in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case.
How did we find that out?: Team WebQoof went through News24's official X account to find the truth behind the viral claim.
We came across the same graphic posted on 15 July 2024.
Its caption said, ""CM Kejriwal may go into coma". AAP MP Sanjay Singh said."
News reports: A keyword search directed us to a news report published by India Today, which said that Singh had slammed Tihar prison authorities' claims regarding Kejriwal.
The authorities had claimed that Kejriwal was fine and his vital levels were normal.
However, Singh had alleged that the then chief minister had lost around 8.5 kg of weight and his blood sugar level had dropped following the latter's arrest.
Backing his statements, Singh claimed that the drastic drop in the blood sugar level could have led to Kejriwal slipping into coma.
Conclusion: It is clear that the graphic talking about Kejriwal's health is old and is being shared with a misleading context.
