This video shows a Russian airstrike from 2023 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Amid its ongoing strikes on Lebanon, the Israeli military reportedly intercepted a surface-to-surface ballistic missile launched from Yemen on September 27 morning. A video now going viral shows a blast.
Sharing it on Facebook, one person wrote, “The moment Yemeni missiles reached occupied Tel Aviv and hit their targets.” Its archive can be seen here.

Our Probe
Many people responded to the viral post claiming the video was old and from Ukraine. Reverse searching keyframes from the video led us to a video report by ABC News that included the viral clip, uploaded to its official YouTube channel on August 30, 2023.
As per the report, on August 30, a barrage of Russian missiles and drone strikes rained down on Kyiv, Ukraine, killing at least two people. Debris from targets intercepted by the city's air defences fell on several buildings.
As per a Reuters report from August 2023, this airstrike by Russia on the capital was its most powerful in months. The attack was carried out near a supermarket in Kyiv. Two people died and three were wounded in the overnight strike. A DW report from the same time also said the viral clip was from Kyiv, Ukraine.
Thus, it’s clear an old video of a Russian airstrike on Ukraine is being falsely shared as a Yemeni attack on Israel.
