When we searched further, we found other social media posts sharing information about the incident with the caption “5-yr-old Live-in Relationship, Body Dumped in Fridge For 9 Months, Case Revealed Today After Power Outage! A young woman's body was mysteriously found inside a fridge in a locked room at Vrindavan Dham Colony, Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. The incident came to light after neighbors noticed a foul smell and informed the police. In the preliminary investigation, police discovered the body was months old. Later, Sanjay Patidar and Vinod Dawe were arrested, and the full story came to light. Sanjay had been in a live-in relationship with the deceased, Pinki Prajapati, for 5 years. After Pinki insisted on marriage, Sanjay, along with his accomplice Vinod, strangled her in March 2024, and then stored her body in a fridge. The case was uncovered today when a power outage caused a foul smell to emerge from the flat.” According to the Times of India, for over six months, a murdered woman's body lay rotting in a refrigerator in a rented room in MP’s Dewas. In July 2024, a person took the ground floor of a building on rent, but could not use a room as it was closed. When the key could not be found, the lock was broken and doors were unlocked. They found the fridge switched on. After the fridge was switched off, an unbearable stench filled the locality. Some neighbors called the police. When the police opened the refrigerator, a decomposed body wrapped in a bedsheet fell out. The police confirmed that the victim was Pratibha (alias Pinky), and was killed by her live-in partner Sanjay Patidar. According to ABP news, Sanjay Patidar has confessed his crime during police interrogation. The woman's name is Pratibha alias Pinky Prajapati. Sanjay Patidar was living in a live-in relationship with her for the last five years. For the last three years, they lived in a house in Ujjain. After that, he rented a house in Dewas and kept Pinky Prajapati for two years. Due to the pressure of marriage, he, along with his friend, strangled Pinky to death and kept the body inside the refrigerator. Therefore, the claim that the woman murdered in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, was a Muslim and her name was Gulnaz is False. The woman’s name was Pratibha or Pinky Prajapati and there is no communal angle to this incident.
