| - A PHOTO showing a mammoth crowd of people has circulated online this week and is being attributed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) mega rally held in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state.
Candidates, political stakeholders and supporters of the PDP had converged in Osun on Wednesday, 13th of July 2022 for a mega rally to support the party’s governorship candidate, Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, The Punch newspaper reported.
The event which also had in attendance a popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, was to garner support for Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the governorship election billed for Saturday, 16th of July 2022.

The viral image was posted with three others by a news blog with the Facebook page, ‘Native Reporters’ as seen here. The page has 207,057 followers.
Posted alongside the images was a caption that reads: “Adeleke campaign team shuts down Osun state.”
The post has since gathered over 1,200 reactions, over 250 comments and more than 200 shares as at noon on Friday.
CLAIM
That the photo is from the just concluded PDP mega rally held in Osun state on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
THE FINDINGS
Findings by The FactCheckHub show that the claim is MISLEADING.
When the image was subjected to verification using the Google Reverse Image Search tool, the finding shows that the image has been on the internet since the 9th of July 2022.
A post on the official and verified Facebook page of the Kwara State Government has the same image with a caption that reads: “Worshippers in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Saturday turned out en masse to observe the 2-rakat Eid-el Kabir prayer, with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq clearly setting the ground for a peaceful atmosphere with his open exchange of pleasantries with leading opposition figures. #EidMubarak “.
In a tweet archived here, a Twitter account with the username, @RealSamboFatiu posted the same image on the 9th of July 2022 with a caption that suggested that the image was from the just concluded Eid Mubarak celebrations.

THE VERDICT
The claim that the photo is from the just concluded PDP mega rally held in Osun state on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 is MISLEADING; as the image was from the Ilorin Eid Celebrations in Kwara state held on Saturday, 9th of July 2022.
