  • Fact Check: Crowd Did Not Chant PM Modi’s name at Donald Trump’s Victory Speech, False Claim Viral Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that this claim is false. The crowd did not chant ‘Modi-Modi’ but rather ‘Bobby-Bobby’ when Robert F Kennedy Jr’s name was mentioned. - By: Pallavi Mishra - Published: Nov 7, 2024 at 03:47 PM New Delhi Vishvas News. Republican candidate Donald Trump has won the US presidential election and is set to return to the White House after a four-year gap. In his victory speech, he thanked all his supporters and team. Meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media, with the claim that the crowd chanted ‘Modi Modi’ during Trump’s victory speech. Vishvas News investigated and found this claim to be false. The crowd was chanting ‘Bobby-Bobby’ in support of Robert F Kennedy Jr when his name was mentioned, not ‘Modi Modi’. What is in the viral post? On November 6, 2024, Facebook user ‘The Legend Lama’ shared the viral video with the caption, “Crowd Chants ‘Modi Modi’ during Victory Speech By Donald John Trump”. The video description reads “Modi’s magic in Trump’s country.” Investigation To investigate the viral claim, we decided to listen to Donald Trump’s full speech. We found the complete speech from November 6, 2024, on ABC News’s YouTube Channel. At 19:36 minutes in this speech, Trump mentions “These are fantastic people. And we can add a few names, like Robert F Kennedy Jr. He came here and he’s going to help make America healthy again. And now he’s a great guy and he really means it; he wants to do some things and we’re going to let him go to it. But, Bobby, leave the oil to me. We have more liquid gold, oil, and gas, we have more liquid gold than any country in the world.—more than Saudi Arabia. We have more than Russia. Bobby, stay away from the liquid gold. Other than that, go have a good time, Bobby.” During this moment the crowd begins chanting ‘Bobby Bobby’. We also reviewed the full speech transcript on Newsweek, which confirms that when Robert F Kennedy Jr was mentioned, the crowd started chanting ‘Bobby Bobby’. We also reached out to JP Ranjan, a senior journalist covering international affairs at Dainik Jagran, who confirmed that the slogans were indeed raised for Robert F Kennedy Jr, popularly known as ‘Bobby’. Who is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? Robert F Kennedy Jr is an American politician and environmental activist, from the well-known Kennedy family. He is the son of Robert F Kennedy, a presidential candidate in 1968, and the nephew of John F Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States. Initially, Kennedy Jr announced his intention to contest as an independent candidate in the 2024 US presidential election but later chose to back Donald Trump. The user ‘The Legend Lama’, who shared the viral video with the misleading claim, has over 13000 followers. Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that this claim is false. The crowd did not chant ‘Modi-Modi’ but rather ‘Bobby-Bobby’ when Robert F Kennedy Jr’s name was mentioned. - Claim Review : Crowd Chant PM Modi’s name at Donald Trump's Victory Speech - Claimed By : Facebook user 'The Legend Lama' - Fact Check : False Know the truth!
