Portuguese star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo recently joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year contract, following his exit from Manchester United last month. In this background, social media users shared a video of Ronaldo in a yellow and blue jersey scoring a goal with a claim to show CR7’s first goal for Al Nassr. Newschecker found the claim to be untrue. The video dates back to 2021 when Ronaldo was playing for Juventus.
Several Twitter users shared the clop. The first segment of the 24-second-long-video shows Ronaldo getting ready to hit the field, and then cuts to him scoring a goal.

A shorter version of this video is also going viral on Twitter and YouTube. Newschecker found the claim to be untrue.

A Yandex reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to a YouTube video by Taraz Football, dated December 16, 2021, titled ‘On this day, Ronaldo said farewell to Juventus (translated from Russian),’ carrying visuals from a football match. The score bug on the screen suggested that the match was between Udinese and Juventus (UDI vs JUV).
Around 2:05 minutes into the video, we spotted a snippet from the viral clip of Ronaldo scoring a goal.
Following this, we conducted a keyword search for “Ronaldo” “last match,” “goal,” “Juventus vs Udinese” on YouTube which yielded multiple videos from the match. One such video by SR7XHD, dated November 14, 2021, titled ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Vs Udinese Away HD 1080i (22/08/2021),’ featured snippets from the viral video showing Ronaldo getting ready for the match at around 2:25 minutes.
Around 4:22 minutes into the video, we also spotted the viral clip of CR7’s goal and the celebrations afterwards.
Multiple YouTube videos from August, 2021 featured the viral clip of Ronaldo getting ready before the match, and then scoring the goal. Such videos can be seen here, here and here.
We also found the viral video of Ronaldo’s goal was uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Serie A – a professional league competition for football clubs – on August 23, 2021.
Reportedly, despite Ronaldo’s celebration, the goal was disallowed after a VAR check deemed that he was slightly offside and the match ended in a draw.
Viral video does not show Ronaldo’s first goal for Al Nassr football club. It clip dates back to August 2021 and shows CR7’s disallowed goal for Juventus.
