  • FACT CHECK: Does Disney Plan To Build A Roller Coaster That Jumps Off Its Track? A post shared on Instagram purports Disney plans to build a roller coaster in their park that jumps off its track for a specific amount of time. View this post on Instagram Verdict: False This claim originates from a website that publishes Disney-related satire. Fact Check: Disney World recently announced a raise in admissions ticket prices, adding variable pricing by park as well as date, according to Fox Business. Prices of some select parks are as high as $189, the outlet reported. The Instagram post claims Disney plans to build a roller coaster that jumps off its track. The post features a photo of a roller coaster with missing tracks and Cinderella’s castle. “Disney wants to build 1st-ever roller coaster that jumps off track,” the image reads. “Disney allegedly just filed a patent for a new roller coaster that jumps off the track,” the caption reads. “If it is ever completed, it will be one of the most advanced amusement park rides ever built.” The post garnered over 71,000 likes and received multiple comments questioning the safety of the proposed coaster. “Everyone get your lawyers ready,” reads one comment. (RELATED: Did A Recent Protest At Disney World Prevent Visitors From Entering The Park?) This claim is baseless, however. The claim stems from an Oct. 30 article from The Mouse Trap, a Disney-themed website that identifies itself as satire on its “About” page. Likewise, there are no credible news reports to show that Disney plans to implement such a ride. Check Your Fact has reached out to Disney for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received. This is not the first time misinformation involving Disney has spread online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that a Disney TV series depicted children promoting Satanism.
