In the latest photo doing the rounds on social media, is a photo of Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Sambit Patra sticking a poster saying "chowkidar hi chor hai" on a wall. "Chowkidar chor hai" is a Congress slogan and India Today TV's Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) found that the photo has been doctored. The Facebook post can be seen here. The archived version of this post can be seen here. Sambit Patra, the BJP spokesperson can be seen in a post sticking out a poster that says, "chowkidar hi chor hai", above which is written "der se aye durust aye, par mana to hai" [better late than never but at least accepted]. The post has been uploaded by Facebook user Rajender Singh who has watermarked the picture with his initials "RDS". The post has been shared by 893 times till the filing of this story. AFWA found that Sambit Patra had uploaded two pictures on February 13 at 12:16 am which said, "Since I was out of station yesterday I hoisted the @BJP4India flag at my home today... and a welcoming party sticker at the entrance to celebrate #MeraParivarBhajapaParivar. Urge All My friends to do the same!" One of the two pictures with this tweet was the very picture of Sambit Patra sticking a poster saying, "Fir ek baar Modi sarkar [Modi government once again]." The tweet can be seen here. The archived version of the tweet can be seen here. Although this is not the first time that Sambit Patra has been the center point of a fake photo. Just a few months ago in October there was another photo of Sambit Patra doing the rounds on social media that was found to be fake.
