Thus, we examined the facts of a purported front-page news item published in an international newspaper. According to the viral image, the "Top Foolish Voters, By Country" were listed, and Sri Lanka was ranked on top. From time to time, this post has been shared through WhatsApp in a satirical manner. Fact Check We did a simple Google search to find out whether there is actually a ranking system to grade the world’s stupidest voters, as the above-mentioned circulated posts are obviously edited. However, it became clear that there is no such ranking globally. Then, the viral photo was monitored through Google Reverse Image search, where the actual information of the photo was found. Accordingly, it became clear that the photograph is on the front page of the Boston Globe newspaper dated 16 August 2018 and that there is no news that says, “Sri Lanka has become the country with the stupidest voters.” Instead, as seen below, the newspaper front page for the corresponding date carried a small article titled " Journalists are not the enemy," Hence, it became clear that the page contained a new item about the threats made to the Boston newspaper after its editorial had published a piece against then-US President Donald Trump.
