Several photos are going viral online claiming to show Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami with former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza.
The claim states that the duo recently got married.
But: These images are not real and have been created using artificial intelligence.
How did we find out the truth?: We did not find any reports or posts on either of their social media accounts which would confirm these claims or pictures.
We then ran these images of AI-detection tools which confirmed that they are altered.

This collage contains three images of the duo and also shows them posing as a married couple.
Hive Moderation confirmed that these images are more than 98 percent AI-generated content.
We also checked the images on True Media and the results show "substantial evidence of manipulation".
It also showed 100 percent confidence for the viral image being an AI-generated image.
It also detected that this image has been created on MidJourney.

This set of images showed the duo on a beach and Hive Moderation concluded it to be 99.7 percent to be altered.
We also checked the images on True Media and the results show "substantial evidence of manipulation".
The results indicated with 99 percent confidence that these viral images were created using AI.
Conclusion: AI-generated images of Mohammed Shami and Sania Mirza are going viral as real pictures of them posing as a couple.
