  • FACT CHECK: Did Donald Trump Say His Ex-Wife Ivana Trump’s Death Was ‘Highly Suspicious’? A post shared on Facebook claims former President Donald Trump referred to his ex-wife Ivana Trump’s recent death as “highly suspicious.” Verdict: False There is no evidence to suggest that Trump has called into question the death of his ex-wife. The claims made in the Facebook post stem from a satirical website. Fact Check: Ivana Trump, a well-known businesswoman and the first wife of the former president, died last week at age 73, according to The Associated Press. She reportedly fell down the stairs by accident, causing “blunt impact injuries” to her torso, the New York Post reported. A post shared on Facebook claims Donald Trump is not buying this explanation. “President Donald J. Trump has avoided public mention of foul play regarding the death of his ex-wife, Ivana, but Mar-a-Lago sources told Real Raw News on Saturday that he called the circumstances surrounding Ivana’s untimely demise ‘highly suspicious,’ ‘peculiar,’ and ‘not right,'” reads part of the July 18 post. The post goes on to claim that the former president suspected the “Deep State” could have murdered his ex-wife. The claim is false. Donald Trump has not expressed any misgivings about his ex-wife’s cause of death on his website or social media accounts. There are likewise no credible news reports suggesting that the former president regarded his ex-wife’s death as “suspicious” or hinted at it being the result of foul play. (RELATED: FACT CHECK: No, Donald Trump Did Not Post This Statement Criticizing Ron DeSantis And Joe Rogan) Donald Trump shared a statement on his Truth Social account about his ex-wife’s death. “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life,” the former president wrote, adding that she was “proud” of her three children. A keyword search revealed the post stems from a July 17 article published by the website Real Raw News. The website includes a disclaimer on its “About Us” page that states, “This website contains humor, parody, and satire.” Check Your Fact has previously debunked false claims stemming from the website, including a post from June 2022 that alleged White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jen O’Malley Dillon was executed by the U.S. military.
