  • FACT CHECK: No, The FBI Did Not Announce That Prisons Rigged Votes A post shared on social media purports that the FBI announced that several prisons rigged their votes to favor Vice President Kamala Harris. Verdict: False The FBI released a statement clarifying that the claim is false. Fact Check: Several counties in Pennsylvania are investigating hundreds of voter registration forms that were flagged as suspicious, Newsweek reported. Lancaster County confirmed on Monday that several registration forms were found to be fraudulent, but Trump incorrectly claimed they were ballots, according to the outlet. A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purports that prison management in several prisons rigged inmates’ votes. The caption reads, “The @FBI issued a statement on the eve of the election: The management of five prisons in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona rigged inmate voting.” The claim is inaccurate. Lead Stories shared the video that shows the FBI logo and claimed that thousands of votes from inmates were rigged to favor Harris. The prisons were located in key swing states like Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona. The FBI released a statement about the post saying that this was an unauthorized use of the FBI insignia. They wrote, “fabricated video containing a fabricated FBI press release alleges that the management of five prisons in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona rigged inmate voting and colluded with a political party. This video is also not authentic, and its contents are false.” Check Your Fact contacted the FBI for comment. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim a Facebook video shows a “ballot mule” in Lincoln, Nebraska.
