  • FACT CHECK: No, Image Does Not Show A Large Crowd At The March For Israel A post shared on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, claims to show an image of a large crowd gathered at the March for Israel in Washington, D.C. I hate to be the one to admit it but it’s obvious that the #MarchForIsrael is on track to become one the biggest pro-Israel rallies in U.S history. pic.twitter.com/O8V5oY9aQg — سماح (@samah_fadil) November 14, 2023 Verdict: False The photo is digitally fabricated. A spokesperson for the March for Israel confirmed that the image does not depict the event in an email to Check Your Fact. Fact Check: Hundreds of thousands of people gathered on the National Mall in Washington D.C. for the March for Israel to denounce Hamas and show support for Israel, according to AP News. Some protestors demanded the 240 hostages captured by Hamas during the surprise attack on Oct. 7 be freed, NBC News reported. An X post purports to show a photo from the march. The photo appears to show a large crowd filling a street, waving Israeli flags. “I hate to be the one to admit it but it’s obvious that the #MarchForIsrael is on track to become one the biggest pro-Israel rallies in U.S history,” the post reads. This is not a genuine image, however. The March for Israel took place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., which the image does not resemble. Upon closer inspection, many of the Israeli flags look deformed, especially the Star of David symbols. BBC Verify journalist Shayan Sardarizadeh made an X post saying that the image is AI-generated. These two images, claiming to show mass rallies in Israel in support of IDF troops, are both AI-generated and fake. pic.twitter.com/wDY27pgTqp — Shayan Sardarizadeh (@Shayan86) November 4, 2023 “Yes that is an obviously doctored photo,” a spokesperson for the March for Israel told Check Your Fact in an email.
