A picture showing liquor bottles is going viral claiming that it is from Bihar. Vishvas News investigated the post and found that the picture is of Thailand and is falsely linked with Bihar. Claim Facebook user Pooja Shekhar Yadav shared a picture on October 19, claiming: ‘Some preparations for BJP-JDU are going on in Bihar as well… mind you Biharis, this is both poison and havoc, so do not get caught in the mischief…!’ Other users are sharing the same photo claiming it to be from Bihar. See the archived version of the viral post here. Investigation Vishvas News started searching the image using Google reverse image search tool. We found a report on a Thai language blog. The same image was used in the post as in the viral post. When we translated the news with the help of Google translation, we found that during 2019 floods in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, alcohol was also distributed along with other things. We found the same picture on the website of thaihitz.com. It was also told that liquor was distributed to the flood victims. During the investigation, we also found the viral picture on a Facebook page Thai TV Social. It was posted on September 22, 2019. This proves that the viral picture is not related to Bihar. Vishvas News reached out to Amit Alok, Bihar digital in-charge of Dainik Jagran. He told that the viral picture has no relation with Bihar. Vishvas News scanned the profile of the user who shared the post. We came to know that the woman hails from Bihar. The account was created in February 2017 by the Facebook user Pooja Shekhar Yadav. Conclusion: During Vishvas News investigation, the viral photo showing liquor bottles is found to be falsely linked to Bihar.
