The claim is neither referenced on Modi’s website nor on his verified social media accounts, and there is no other evidence to support the claim.
Fact Check:
Modi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the annual BRICS summit Tuesday, according to the Moscow Times. During the meeting, Modi said he wants the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war to be resolved “peacefully” and “quickly,” the outlet reported.
The Facebook post claims Abbas called Modi “a Zionist slave.” “BREAKING Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas calls Indian PM Modi a ‘Zionist slave,'” the post, which does not provide a source to support its claim, reads. The post also features a photo of Abbas.
The claim is false and is neither referenced on the Indian Prime Minister’s website nor on his verified social media accounts. Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. In fact, the opposite is true. Both India Today and DFRAC debunked the claim via respective articles published on October 1. (RELATED: Video Shows Algerian Celebration, Not Iranian Attack)
Although there is no evidence to support the claim, Modi and Abbas did recently meet with each other in New York, according to a September 22 post shared via Modi’s verified X account.
“Met President Mahmoud Abbas in New York. Reiterated India’s support for early restoration of peace and stability in the region. Exchanged views of further strengthening long standing friendship with the people of Palestine,” the post reads.

On September 23, The Economic Times reported the meeting between the two leaders occurred “on the sidelines of the UN Summit for the Future.” The outlet also reported Modi reiterated India’s support for Palestine, “including continued humanitarian assistance,” during the same meeting.
