  • Il 18 luglio 2021 su Facebook è stata pubblicata una foto che ritrae un uomo trasportare due gatti in braccio mentre cammina in una strada sommersa dall’acqua. L’immagine è accompagnata da un commento, scritto da chi ha pubblicato il contenuto su Facebook, in cui si afferma che la scena si sarebbe svolta durante le alluvioni che a metà luglio hanno colpito duramente diverse zone della Germania, provocando 170 morti e ingenti danni economici. Si tratta di un contenuto fuorviante che veicola una notizia falsa. La foto oggetto della nostra verifica non è stata scattata in Germania a luglio 2021. L’immagine risale al 12 giugno 2008 e mostra un uomo di nome Brandon Smith a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, (Stati Uniti), che porta in salvo i suoi gatti. La sua casa era stata sommersa dopo l’esondazione del fiume Cedar per via delle forti piogge.
