| - Following Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash’s suicide note that has gone viral, his wife and in-laws have become the target of social media focus and one such post purportedly showing the photo of his estranged wife has surfaced.
Subhash, in his suicide note, alleged harassment by his estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania, her brother Anurag Singhania and her uncle Sushil Singhania. He said that he faced emotional distress due to harassment and cases filed by his wife and her family, before ending his life. Currently, Bengaluru police have registered a case of abetment of suicide and the investigation is ongoing.
In this context, while several social media users rallied behind him seeking justice, they also shared an alleged photograph of his wife Nikita Singhania demanding her arrest. See one such X post by @ShashiShekhar that has gone viral.

She was being given 80000 per month by Atul for maintenance by the order of court while she herself works in Accenture.

FACT-CHECK
When Digiteye India received a request for fact-checking such post on WhatsApp, we searched for the original picture of Atul Singhania’s wife Nikita Singhania on Google and found the one featuring Singhanias. A simple comparison shows that the woman claimed to be Nikita was not matching. Along with it, we could trace counter-claims on social media where the users denied the claims on photos.

Further search revealed that the viral photo was taken from an Instagram account of another woman, also named Nikita Singhania, but not the same woman alleged in Atul Subhash’s suicide note. The photo actually belonged to a LinkedIn user based in Raipur, not Atul Subash’s estranged wife, who reports so far suggested that she works at Accenture in Delhi. Hence, the viral photograph being shared currently is not of Atul Subhash’s wife Nikita Singhania.
Claim: Image claiming to be of Nikita Singhania, who allegedly slapped false cases on her husband Atul Subhash.
Conclusion: Misrepresentation. The photo being shared actually belonged to a different LinkedIn user based in Raipur, not Atul Subash’s estranged wife.
