The video was posted to Twitter in July 2021. The video resembles footage of a New York celebration in 2020 when President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were elected, according to Reuters.

Comments from Carlson discussing “how white men fight” in relation to a video of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol reportedly alarmed leaders at Fox News, according to The Hill. The message is said to have played a role in Carlson’s firing, CNN reported.
“Apparently there’s a Tucker Carlson Parade in New York celebrating him leaving Fox News. Needs more cowbell,” the Twitter video, viewed over 200,000 times, purports. “NYC is going nuts over this Tucker Carlson news,” text overlay on the video reads.

The claim is false. The video was posted to Twitter in July 2021, so it predates Carlson’s exit from Fox News. “My neighborhood is going nuts over Twitter getting rid of fleets,” the video’s caption reads. The original video references Twitter Fleets, a feature that closely resembled Snapchat and Instagram stories and allowed users to post content that disappeared after 24 hours. Twitter announced its Fleets feature would no longer be available on July 14, 2021, the same day the original video was shared.
In addition, the video resembles footage of a New York celebration in 2020 when Biden and Harris were elected, according to Reuters. In these photos, the same man in the grey T-shirt is visible, and an LGBTQ+ pride flag can be seen in the background.
Furthermore, there are no credible news reports indicating a parade took place in New York celebrating Carlson’s exit from Fox News. The former Fox News host also has not responded to the purported claim via his website or verified social media accounts. He likely would have if such a parade had taken place.
