  • FACT CHECK: Did British MP Share His Love For Entertainer And Known Sex Offender Rolf Harris? An image shared on social media purports former British MP Nadhim Zahawi praised entertainer and known child abuser Rolf Harris. Verdict: False The image is fabricated. There is no evidence that this tweet is authentic. Fact Check: U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said recently that the migration number in the U.K. is “too high,” The Guardian reported. 2022 data showed net migration was at a record setting 606,000, this number is largely attributed to individuals migrating to study or work in the U.K, or to escape dangerous situations. The Facebook post purports Zahawi recently showed support of Harris. The post shows a screenshot of an alleged tweet from Zahawi’s Twitter account that praises Harris. “RIP Rolf Harris, a great actor loved him in The Guns of Navarone and more recently as dumbeldore,” the alleged tweet reads. The image is altered. There is no credible news report that suggests this tweet is authentic. There is no such tweet found on Zahawi’s verified Twitter account. (RELATED: Image Claims To Show Explosion AT Pentagon) The post also appears to confuse Rolf Harris with acclaimed actor Richard Harris. Richard Harris played the famous role of Dumbledore in the early Harry Potter films, “The Sorcerer’s Stone” and “The Chamber of Secrets.” Richard Harris was replaced by Michael Gambon in the later Potter films after his death in 2002. Richard Harris also appeared in the 1961 movie The Guns of Navarone, not Rolf Harris. Rolf Harris recently died at 93 of neck cancer. He was a renewed entertainer in Britain and Australia. Harris was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison for several assaults on women and girls, CNN reported. This is not the first time a fabricated article has been shared online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that the Guardian published a piece about getting “dozens” of COVID-19 vaccine boosters.
