  • Is a viral Facebook post from Norwegian fuel company Haltbakk Bunkers announcing they will no longer deliver fuel to American military ships real? Here's what we know: Several screenshots of the post calling Friday's Trump - Zelenskyy meeting "the biggest shitshow ever presented" went viral, but the post itself currently does not appear on Haltbakk's Facebook page, which appears to be entirely down at the time of writing. However, several social media posts and a search engine result page linking to it remain online and show traces that the message was genuine. Lead Stories reached out to the company by email, and we will update this story when we hear more. One example of the image appeared in this X post (archived here) published on March 1, 2025, which read: Haltbakk Bunkers, a Major Fuel Company in Norway, has announced that following what they describe as "the biggest shitshow ever presented "live on tv" by the current American president and his vice president" they have decided to immediately stop providing Fuel to U.S. Navy Ships and other American Forces in Norway. They further call for other Norwegian and European Companies to follow their example. The Owner of Haltbakk Bunkers, Gunnar Gran later told Kystens Næringsliv that "not a litre of fuel will be delivered until Trump is finished." This is what the image looked like: The text in the image read: We have today been witnesses to the biggest shitshow ever presented "live on tv" by the current American president and his vice president. Huge credit to the president of Ukraine restraining himself and for keeping calm even though USA put on a backstabbing tv show. It made us sick. Short and sweet. As a result, we have decided to immediate STOP as fuel provider to American forces in Norway and their ships calling Norwegian ports. "No Fuel to Americans!" We encourage all Norwegians and Europeans to follow our example. SLAVA UKRAINA The website of Haltbakk Bunkers (archived here) lists a link to a company Facebook page, which currently appears to be down. However, an online search for a phrase used in the message led Lead Stories to this post on X (archived here): zródło: https://t.co/j60lNzNE8D -- Tomasz Janusz (@TomaszJanusz) March 1, 2025 That post contained a link to the original Facebook post and a snippet of the message's text. When sharing a link on X, websites (like Facebook in this case) can opt to show a "card" summarizing or previewing the content being linked to. The Facebook link in question (https://www.facebook.com/haltbakkbunkers/posts/pfbid0X1g58EWL3htWkiLiBeGTCc3f6ec8V1ws1sx8MmRt7Kc3QLVm23Xse4Sk7LzMqTvil) currently shows an error message when clicked, and Lead Stories could not locate an archived copy of the content. But the 'haltbakkbunkers' part of the URL indicates it appeared on Haltbakk's Facebook page. A Google search for the URL in question (archived here) also brought up a reference to Haltbakk's Facebook page: (Image: Google search results screenshot taken by Lead Stories on March 2, 2025 at 11:02:58 UTC) The screenshot in the Tomazs Januzs tweet was showed a different background, language and engagement counts compared to the first screenshot: (Image: X.com screenshot taken by Lead Stories on March 2, 2025 at 11:12:49 UTC) Lead Stories encountered at least one other screenshotted version of the post on X for example the one in this X post (archived here): (Image: X.com screenshot taken by Lead Stories on March 2, 2025 at 11:15:52 UTC) Typically if a faked screenshot of a social media post goes viral all copies have the exact same layout, background, engagement counts etc., which is not the case here. UK website Express (archived here) said the owner of Haltbakk had confirmed the story to Norwegian publication Kystens Næringsliv: Owner of the firm Gunnar Gran has told Norwegian maritime news site Kystens Næringsliv that 'not a litre of fuel' will be delivered 'until Trump is finished'. It reported: "As you probably understand, not a liter will be delivered until Trump is finished, the owner tells Kystens Næringsliv. The article in Kystens Næringsliv (archived here) quoted Gunnar Gran as saying: No fuel for the Americans! is the call so far on the bunker supplier's Facebook page. - We run a private limited company and choose our customers! says Gran to Kystens Næringsliv. (Translated from Norwegian using Google Translate) The Kystens Næringsliv story contained yet another screenshot of the post, this time with the user interface in Norwegian and very low engagement counts: (Image: kystens.no screenshot taken by Lead Stories on March 2, 2025 at 11:19:25 UTC) Lead Stories has reached out by email to Haltbakk Bunkers, and we will update this story when they get back to us.
