The hoarding shows inverted tricolour shades of the Indian flag. Nayakii 🇮🇳 ( Modi’s Family) (@nammsiem) April 22, 2024 It has been shared with several claims and captions. One such post on X said, “Upcoming Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rally posters in Bengaluru show Indian flag upside down, with green on top, video goes viral.” Upcoming Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rally posters in Bengaluru show the Indian flag upside down, with green on top, video goes viral pic.twitter.com/U51UNKrpVu — Megh Updates 🚨™ (@MeghUpdates) April 22, 2024 Another X user said, “Indian Flag upside down, with green on top in the posters of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at the Upcoming rally of Congress in Bengaluru. Congress and Gandhi family leave no chance to insult India and Indian national flag.” Several such remarks have been made while sharing the image on social media as seen here and here. FACT CHECK Digiteye India took key frames of the video and searched them on Google Reverse Image search for the original video or related visuals. The results showed that the video was not from Bengaluru but from Madhya Pradesh and dates back to June 12, 2023, during the Assembly elections in the state. उल्टे तिरंगे के साथ @INCMP की चुनावी शुरूआत ?! pic.twitter.com/yI87pyvVOt — Prahlad Singh Patel (मोदी का परिवार) (@prahladspatel) June 12, 2023 The video was shared by Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of Panchayat Rural Development & Labour, Madhya Pradesh. He wrote: “@INCMP starts election with inverted tricolour?!”. He posted the same video on Facebook with the caption:”उल्टे तिरंगे के साथ Indian National Congress – Madhya Pradesh की चुनावी शुरूआत? ये संस्कारधानी जबलपुर है,जहां शताब्दी पहले पणतंत्र भारत में टाउनहॉल पर” [Translated into English, it reads:”Jabalpur is the cultural capital, where the Flag Satyagraha movement first started by hoisting the tricolour in the town hall. And now this is today’s picture. You decide.”] It was also covered by news outlets such as Zee News quoting the BJP leader who accused Priyanka Gandhi of insulting the national flag when she kick-started her campaign in Jabalpur for the 2023 Assembly Elections. Later, Nai Duniya reported that a case will be registered on the issue. Hence, the video is not related to Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to Bengaluru in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Claim: Upcoming Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rally posters in Bengaluru show the Indian flag upside down, with green on top. Conclusion: The claim is false. An old video of June 2023 from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh was shared on April 22, 2024 as from Bengaluru. Rating: Misrepresentation —
