  • Fact Check: Viral video showing caved in road is not from Ayodhya Several districts in Uttar Pradesh have been witnessing heavy rainfall in the last few days. Almost 11 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh in rain-related incidents. Rains wreaked havoc in Ayodhya too, with the water-level in River Sarayu swelling close to the danger mark. Claim :Viral video shows road destroyed in Ayodhya near Ram Mandir Fact :The viral video is from Dubai, not Ayodhya Several districts in Uttar Pradesh are witnessing heavy rainfall in the past few days. Almost 11 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh in rain-related incidents. Rains created havoc in Ayodhya too, with the water level in the Sarayu River rising close to the danger mark. The newly built roads of the Ram Path caved in due to the rains, and the authorities responded to the situation by repairing the patches. But this incident took social media by storm, the netizens started criticizing the quality of the roads in the area. Amidst this, a video showing a road destroyed due to rains and floods is in circulation, especially on Youtube with the claim that the road seen in the video is the newly built road from Ayodhya and is damaged due to the incessant rains. The users shared the video implying that the roads in Ayodhya are of very low quality. Many users shared the video with a caption in Hindi, which claimed that ‘the state of Ram Path only after 2 rains’. Fact Check: The claim is False. The video is not from Ayodhya, the roads seen are from Dubai. When we searched the extracted keyframes using Google reverse image search, we found that the viral video was also shared by X user Dhruv Rathee, but later deleted the tweet. But in response to this tweet, several other users shared that the video is from Dubai. Ayodhya Police also refuted the claim stating that the video shown in the tweet is not from Ayodhya. A case has been registered against the person who spread the misleading news. #UPPolice Upon further search, we also found YouTube videos published in April 2024 with the title Dubai AEAEAE. A similar video was published by another YouTube channel with the title ‘Dubai me menadir open hone se kay huaa’. Although we could not confirm if the video is definitely from Dubai, the video is not from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The claim is False.
