  • FACT CHECK: Did Top Military Leaders Apologize For Questioning The 2020 Election Following The 2022 Midterms? A post shared on Facebook purports top U.S. military leaders apologized for questioning the 2020 presidential election following the 2022 midterms election. Verdict: False The claim stems from a satirical website. There have been no public apologies or remarks from any military leaders following the 2022 midterms. Fact Check: Following Tuesday’s 2022 midterm elections, key races in states such as Nevada still have not been decided, including a runoff set to take place Dec. 6 in Georgia’s Senate race, USA Today reported. Control of both the House and the Senate are still undecided as of Nov. 11, according to CBS News. The Facebook post purports top military leaders contacted Marine Corps Gen. David H. Berger to apologize for questioning the 2020 presidential election following the 2022 midterms. Leaders, including retired Air Force Gen. Lori Jean Robinson and Navy Admiral Joey B. Dodgen, allegedly told Berger they made errors in judgment or were deceived by former President Donald Trump’s “lies regarding election fraud.” The claim is incorrect. There are no credible news reports any military leaders had questioned or apologized over concerns regarding the 2020 election. Likewise, the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps have not mentioned the purported claim via their verified social media accounts or their respective websites. Berger also has not publicly commented on the claim. A keyword search reveals the claim stems from a Nov. 9 article published on the website “Real Raw News.” The site includes a disclaimer on its “About Us” page indicating it contains “humor, parody, and satire.” (RELATED: Is The Emergency Alert System On Standby For The 2022 Midterm Elections?)
