  • FACT CHECK: Video Shows Protest In Belarus, Not London A post shared on social media purportedly shows a video of a massive rally that recently occurred in London. What a fucking magnificent spectacle 300,000 British Patriots πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ₯² So proud to be British today more than ever πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ’™πŸ€β€οΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ We did Tommy proud. Fact Check: Thousands of protesters and supporters of political activist Tommy Robinson gathered in London for an event called β€œUnite the Kingdom,” The Guardian reported. Demonstrators were met by counter-protesters organized by the initiative Stand Up to Racism. A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purportedly shows the Unite the Kingdom rally in London. The video plays solumn music over a clip of a large crowd. Text over the video reads, β€œUnite The Kingdom.” The caption reads, β€œWhat a fucking magnificent spectacle 300,000 British Patriots. So proud to be British today more than ever. We did Tommy proud. We did ourselves proud. We did the entire fucking western world proud. Well done. #FreeTommy.” The claim is inaccurate. The video dates back to August 2020 in Belarus. German journalist Paul Ronzheimer shared the video reporting that the incident occurred in Minks. He posted other videos from the same event on the same day. (RELATED: Does This Viral Video Show North Carolina Crowd At Harris Rally?) Over 100,000 people gathered for the rally in Independence Square to demand the resignation of President Alexander Lukashenko, the New York Post reported. Protesters questioned if Lukashenko authentically received 80% of the vote. This is not the first time misinformation has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim former President Donald Trump made a β€œrally cry” to the UK.
