  • FACT CHECK: Does This Video Show Anti-Aircraft Guns Being Installed In London? A video shared on Facebook allegedly shows anti-aircraft guns being installed across London, England. Verdict: False The video shows construction equipment, not anti-aircraft guns. The country has donated air defense missiles to Ukraine. Fact Check: The United Kingdom has provided Ukraine with billions of dollars worth of military equipment to Ukraine since Russia invaded the country in February, according to BBC News. The country had donated air defense missiles to aid Ukraine, Reuters reported. The Facebook video shows a piece of machinery being lowered from what appears to be a crane. The video is captioned, “Anti aircraft guns being installed across London.” (RELATED: Does This Image Show Russian Conscripts With Mosin-Nagant Rifles?) However, the video does not show anti-aircraft guns being installed. Check Your Fact was able to geolocate the video to the A5 road in Hendon, London. Reuters reported that it shows the Silkstream development project, which is a property being developed by St. George, a brand of the Berkley Group. A spokesperson for St. George told Reuters that it was not installing anti-aircraft guns. The spokesperson also said to Reuters that the equipment in the video “is a concrete placing boom. The concrete is pumped from a delivery lorry through this device to reach hard-to-reach areas of the site.” The equipment does look similar to concrete placing booms. Check Your Fact found no evidence of anti-aircraft guns being placed in London. Neither the British Ministry of Defense nor the London mayor’s office has released any statements about anti-aircraft guns being installed in London. Misinformation regarding country responses to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has been widespread since its start in February. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that a Ukrainian brigade destroyed thousands of Russian troops in Kherson.
