  • Authors Claim Screengrab of a report stating that Narayana Murthy advocated limited interaction between girls & boys for success. Fact No evidence of any such statement by Murthy. News outlet confirmed that the story is fake. A screengrab from a purported Hindustan Times report on alleged remarks by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy advocating “limited interaction between the young girls and boys” has gone viral, attracting much criticism from social media users. The alleged report, titled ‘Narayana Murthy advocates limited interaction between young girls and boys for success’, states “Narayana Murthy emphasised that GenZ is shooting itself in its foot by getting into relationships, situationships, dating and other drama. They must instead focus on hustling and building the nation.” Multiple X, Facebook and Instagram users shared the image calling out the alleged statement by Murthy. Such posts can be seen here, here and here. Also Read: 2022 Video Of Man Carrying Son’s Body On Bike Falsely Linked To Tirupati Temple Stampede Fact Check/Verification A Google search for “Narayana Murthy,” “limited interaction” and “girls boys” did not yield any credible reports attributing such remarks to the Infosys founder. The official website of Hindustan Times was too devoid of any such report. Its social media handles did not feature any such story either. On comparing the viral image with the recent reports by Hindustan Times, we noticed a few discrepancies. The date stamp, seen below the byline in the authentic articles, was missing in the viral image. We also noticed that the font of the paragraph seen below the headline in the alleged screengrab was different from the one seen in the reports featured on the official Hindustan Times website. We found multiple reports by the outlet carrying the same photo of Murthy as seen in the viral image. However, such reports did not mention his alleged remarks on GenZ. It is likely that the viral screengrab has been curated after manipulating such a report. We confirm that the screenshot is photoshopped and the story is fake,” it stated, adding, “… appropriate legal action will be taken against those responsible for creating and spreading this misinformation.” Also Read: Old, Unrelated Visuals Falsely Linked To Recent Earthquake In Tibet Conclusion Hence, the alleged report stating that Narayana Murthy advocated limited interaction between young girls and boys for success was found to be fake.
