| - A video showing an overcrowded train is being shared to claim that it shows a train going towards the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
What we found: We divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.
In our search, we found the same video on a YouTube channel named Anand Vlog, which was said to be from Patna, Bihar.
This video was uploaded on this channel on 27 February 2018, whereas the Kumbh began in January.
We ran a relevant keyword search and found that previously, the viral video was shared, claiming it to be of UP PET Exam 2022.
Then, North Central Railway refuted these misleading claims in this post.
Along with this, we found that the UP Fact-Check X's handle posted, calling it an old video and said that it has nothing to do with the UP-PET exam 2022.
Although we could not independently confirm the origin of this video, it is clear that it is old and has no connection with Kumbh.
These claims come at a time when there have been two fatal stampedes related to the Kumbh; one in Prayagraj and the other at Delhi's railway station. Reports about massive traffic congestions have also emerged in the last few weeks noting the massive influx of people attending the event.
Conclusion: An old video of a crowded train is being shared on social media with misleading claims and linked to the Kumbh.
