  • As the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ event on January 22, 2024 at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is nearing, several false videos are making the rounds on social media platforms, and one such video, showing a large procession chanting ‘Jai Sri Ram’, is being shared with a claim that it was the devotees from Nepal arriving in India for the event. See the video: Wedding gift for Bhagwan #Ram and Maa Sita is being carried out in a grand procession from Maa Sita’s home in #Nepal to Bhagwan #RamMandir in #Ayodhya 🚩🚩🚩#RamMandirPranPratishta #AyodhyaSriRamTemple #NationalYouthDay #MumbaiGetsAtalSetu #AtalSetu #SwamiVivekananda #Hanuman pic.twitter.com/D0c5IEdHTA — Abhishek Sharma (@sabhi1901) January 12, 2024 The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ is scheduled for January 22, 2024 and more than two lakh devotees are expected to witness the ceremony in Ayodhya. In this context, the viral message has attracted mileage among many viewers in the country. The caption of the post reads:”Wedding gift for Bhagwan Ram and Maa Sita is being carried out in a grand procession from Maa Sita’s home in Nepal to Bhagwan Ram Mandir in Ayodhya”. Another message with the same video is being shared with a caption that reads: “Not a ‘Brahmin’ Not a ‘Kshatriya’ Not a ‘Vaishya’ Not a ‘Shudra’ Just an Ocean of Hindus arriving from Nepal to Ayodhya for #RamMandirPranPratishta”. The video was shared widely here and here. FACT CHECK Digiteye India team took it up as the video looked familiar and share on many occasions. We broke the video into key frames and searched them in Google Reverse Image Search. The results led us to a video in a Twitter message that was posted on July 9, 2023, pertaining to a procession of devotees of godman Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. Known as “Bageshwar Dham Sarkar Kalash Yatra in Noida”, it was shared widely. Further search on Google revealed that the event was “Jaitpur Greater Noida Shobha Yatra and Kalash Yatra”. See the video here: In Greater Noida Bageshwar government started and 11000 women took out Kalash Yatra जय श्री राम 🚩बागेश्वर धाम की जय🚩#BageshwarDhamSarkar #bageshwardham pic.twitter.com/WgtSgbogH4 — Nirpakh Post (@PostNirpakh) July 9, 2023 The event was reported here and here. Reports said that a big Kalash Yatra was organized before the celebration of Divya Darbar in Greater Noida. Thousands of people, especially women, participated in this 3-kilometre long Kalash Yatra. The ‘Bhagwat Katha’ was held by Dhirendra Krishna Shashtri between July 10 and July 16. Hence, a false old video from July 2023 was shared as that of Nepal devotees bringing gifts for the Ram Mmandir Pran Pratishtan event on January 22, 2024. Claim: A video claims a wedding gift for Bhagwan Ram and Maa Sita is being carried out in a grand procession from Maa Sita’s home in Nepal to Bhagwan Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Conclusion: FALSE. An old video of thousands of women on the 3-kilometer-long Kalash Yatra for the ‘Bhagwat Katha’ by Dhirendra Krishna Shashtri in July 2023 was shared as Nepal devotees’ yatra to Ayodhya in January 2024.
