A set of images is being shared on social media platforms to claim that they show actor Saif Ali Khan giving a bag full of notes to the autorickshaw driver, who took him to the hospital post-attack in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
What did users say?: Those sharing the image have uploaded it with a caption that said, "Saif Ali Khan gave 5 Lakh rupees to the Auto Driver and appointed at his Home who saved His Life!."
What are the facts?: The images have been altered to add the bag full of money. The real one showed Khan and the rickshaw driver named Bhajan Singh Rana posing together.
What led us to the truth?: On performing a simple reverse image search, we found a visual of both of them dressed in the same attire published in a report published by The New Indian Express.
It said that Khan met autorickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who had rushed him to the hospital after the former was attacked at his residence in Mumbai.
The driver reportedly said that Saif had assured help to him and also gave some money, the amount, however, was not clear.
The report further mentioned that the actor's family treated Rana with respect and also clicked photos with him.
Other sources: Team WebQoof found several images of Khan and Rana posing together while wearing the same attire posted on NDTV's X (formerly Twitter) account.
It was posted on 22 January and its caption said, "#InPics | Actor Saif Ali Khan meets auto driver Bhajan Singh Rana who took him to hospital after attack."
Comparing visuals: We compared the viral image to a visual posted on the X handle of NDTV and found that the former had been edited to add the bag full of money.
Conclusion: It is evident that the images have been edited and are not a real visual.
