An image shared on Facebook purports to show a TRUTH Social post from President-elect Donald Trump admitting he didn’t win the 2024 presidential election. Verdict: False The image is fake and originates via a parody account on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter, according to Reuters. There is no evidence Trump made the purported post. Fact Check: Trump has chosen Brendan Carr to lead the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to The Hill. Carr, who previously served as the FCC’s general counsel and adviser to former chair Ajit Pai, was first nominated by Trump to the agency in 2017, the outlet reported. The Facebook image purports to show a TRUTH Social post from Trump admitting he didn’t win the 2024 presidential election. “I am being told I didn’t win the election – ELECTION RESULTS IN DISPUTE IN KEY STATES. MASSIVE irregularities found, courts are getting involved. ELON RIGGED IT TOO! This is a total WITCH HUNT and ELECTION INTERFERENCE at the highest levels! More to come!!” the purported post reads. The claim is false. Check Your Fact reviewed Trump’s TRUTH Social account and did not find any reference to the purported post. Trump also has not publicly commented on the purported post via his official website or his verified social media accounts. Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 18, Reuters debunked the claim. According to Reuters, the image is fake and originates from a parody account on X. The post also bears a labeling indicating it is “satire” on X, the outlet reported. Trump claimed victory over 2024 Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris on Nov. 5, winning the 270 electoral votes needed to become president, according to Fox News.
