A video of showing massive inundation, with multiple buildings partially submerged in muddy waters, has gone viral on social media platforms, with users linking it to Cyclone Biparjoy that made landfall on Gujarat coast yesterday. Those sharing the footage claimed that it showed the impact of cyclone Biparjoy in Jamnagar. Newschecker found that nearly two-year-old video has been falsely shared to show the massive flooding in Jamnagar due to the cyclone. Multiple Twitter users shared the video asserting that it showed the impact of cyclone Biparjoy in Gujarat. Such posts can be seen here, here, here, here, here and here. No, Old Video From Kerala Shared With False Claim The video was also shared on Facebook by @Viralgujrat on September 13, 2021. Heavy rainfall had caused massive flooding in various parts of Gujarat including Jamnagar and Rajkot in September 2021. Multiple outlets had reported on the inundation in multiple places in Gujarat due to the incessant rains. Such reports can be seen here, here and here.
