A post circulating on social media claims PM Narendra Modi ignored Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and invited Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis to a meeting of chief ministers. In the viral post, Fadnavis can be seen greeting PM Modi and JP Nadda with folded hands.
“It was the Chief Minister's Council. See, who is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra among them?” a caption in Marathi read.
An AFWA investigation found that the claim is misleading. The photo was taken during a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Ministers Council. Non-BJP leaders, including NDA allies, were not invited.

Following the fall of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the chief minister on June 30 while BJP's Fadnavis became his deputy.
