No such incident occurred, the image is edited to make it look like RashmikaIn recent times, several celebrities have fallen prey to the deepfake menace, including actors like Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Rashmika Mandanna, etc. A video originally posted by a British-Indian influencer, Zara Patel, was morphed by swapping her face with Rashmika Mandanna’s face using AI technology. This video went viral in the year 2023. This drew widespread criticism. Even after the culprit behind this was arrested the deepfake videos kept being produced and shared online. The actress was appointed by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre of the Ministry of Home Affairs as the national ambassador for promoting cyber safety.
Meanwhile, a collage of images showing her in a hospital bed with head wrapped in bandages along with pictures of Tollywood actors Vijay Devarakonda, Allu Arjun, and Mahesh Babu, is in circulation on the internet. They are seen on Facebook and Instagram with the claim that Rashmika Mandanna’s condition is critical after a sudden illness.
The posts are in circulation with an article link, showing the title ‘Shocking Health Emergency: Rashmika Mandanna’s Condition Critical After Sudden Illness!’

The claim is False. The actress had a leg injury in January 2025 and is not in a critical condition.
When we searched for news about Rashmika Mandanna’s illness, we found a few articles sharing a video of her walking with the help of a walker. According to the articles, she suffered an injury in her during a gym session.
We also found a video published by Zoom TV showing Rashmika attending a trailer launch of a movie named Chhaava. This video was in circulation with the description “We all have seen Rashmika Mandanna attending Chhaava trailer launch while limping despite a foot injury. The actress revealed she’s dealing with three fractures and a muscle tear. Wishing her a speedy recovery!”
Rashmika also shared images of her injured leg on January 11, 2025, stating that she injured herself in the gym, and is in the hop mode.
When we used the image and performed a reverse image search, we found an article published on Yahoo sharing the original image of a woman on a hospital bed. The article shares the experience of a BBC TV presenter Nicki Chapman with a brain tumor five years after undergoing surgery.
We also found a Facebook video published in October 2020, where Nicki Chapman is seen talking about the brain tumor.
