Newschecker ran a keyword search for “ABP-CVoter opinion poll Andhra Pradesh”, which did not throw up any credible news reports or official records about such a survey. We looked up CVoter’s website, where we did not find any poll concerning the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
We, however, came across this ABP Live report, dated February 29, 2024, sharing the viral infographic, which firmly states that ABP Live and CVoter have not issued any such projections or data regarding the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections 2024.
“A social media post bearing the logo of ABP Live and its English website name is going viral on social media platforms, with the claim that ABP-CVoter has projected a range of seats for the Andhra Pradesh assembly which is due for polls in 2024. The post is fake, and ABP Network or any of its subsidiaries have not released any such data regarding Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election 2024. ABP Network does not bear any responsibility for the data being shared. The creative being widely circulated on WhatsApp and other platforms is completely fabricated and false,” read the report.
ABP Live also tweeted out a #FakeNews alert, regarding the viral graphic, on February 29, 2024.
