The video was first shared in 2022 and shows a different flood. Oil is the country’s top export and Venezuela’s head of congress, Jorge Rodriguez, is part of the discussion. The Twitter post purportedly shares a video of flooding that occurred through a city in Chile. The video shows a road with rapid waters taking cars and trees downstream. The caption reads, “Terrifying floods due to intense rains in santiago of Chile TELEGRAM JOIN.” The claim is false. There is no credible news report that this is video of a recent flood in Chile. Check Your Fact conducted research that revealed the video was shared on social media back in 2022. An Instagram post claims the video is of a flood that happened in Venezuela city of Maracay. “The spillway of the “El Castaño” river collapses with everything in its path north of the city of Maracay.” View this post on Instagram Reports at the time stated that at least 3 people were killed in the flood in Oct 2022, Al Jazeera reported.
