Quick Take
A post on Facebook claims that the Piles Matrix kit can heal piles and stop bleeding in just one day. Our fact check says it’s Mostly False.
The Claim
As per an advertisement post on Facebook, the Piles Matrix kit claims to quickly heal piles and stop bleeding in just one day. It is marketed as using natural, Ayurvedic ingredients and is certified free from heavy metals, pesticides, steroids, and GMOs.
Fact Check
What is the Piles Matrix kit and how does it work?
The Piles Matrix kit, heavily advertised on platforms like Facebook, claims to treat both internal and external piles, stop bleeding, and heal the condition in just one day. It is marketed as an Ayurvedic solution made from natural herbs like Triphala, Guggul, Citrus Aurantifolia, Citrus Sinensis, Styphnolobium Japonicum, and Piper Longum.
These herbs have a long history in traditional medicine, especially in Ayurveda, but there is little clinical evidence to support the claim that this combination can cure piles, particularly within such a short time frame. While some people may find these ingredients helpful, their effectiveness can vary based on individual factors, such as bio-individuality, and the quality of the herbs used. Ayurvedic remedies are generally aimed at providing gradual relief rather than instant results. For instance, Triphala may help relieve constipation, which could indirectly benefit those with piles. However, the bold claim of a one-day cure remains misleading and lacks scientific backing.
Can the Piles Matrix kit treat advanced stages of piles without surgery in just one day?
No, it cannot. Stage 4 piles involve prolapsed haemorrhoids that are difficult to push back in and may require surgery to correct. In such cases, doctors often recommend surgical options like haemorrhoidectomy or rubber band ligation. Non-surgical treatments can relieve symptoms like pain, itching, and bleeding, but they do not cure advanced piles. The claim that the Piles Matrix kit can treat such severe cases without medical intervention seems like an exaggeration. This could actually mislead people into delaying necessary treatment, leading to complications.
We asked Dr Sharad Malhotra, Senior Consultant & HOD Gastroenterology Hepatology & Therapeutic Endoscopy, Aakash Healthcare, New Delhi, for his expert take on Ayurvedic piles kit. He says, “I often see patients seeking quick fixes for piles, but there is no evidence to support claims that any product can heal piles or stop bleeding within a day. Piles, especially in advanced stages, usually require a combination of lifestyle changes, medications, and sometimes surgical intervention. Natural remedies may provide relief for mild symptoms. However, relying on them for a cure without medical guidance can delay proper treatment and lead to complications.”
Can natural remedies cure piles faster than medical treatments?
Not really. Natural remedies may help ease mild symptoms, but no evidence supports claims that they cure piles faster than standard medical treatments.
The Piles Matrix kit contains ingredients like Triphala and Guggul, which are popular for their anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits. Ayurvedic practices often recommend these herbs to relieve constipation, improve digestion, and reduce inflammation, which can help manage piles. However, advanced cases of piles usually require more comprehensive treatments, including dietary changes for managing piles, topical applications, and sometimes medical interventions. Proven treatments include over-the-counter creams, fibre supplements, and, in severe cases, surgeries like hemorrhoidectomy. Clinical trials support these treatments, and they are customised to the severity of the condition. However, we still recommend exercising caution with magical claims made on social media. For instance, a hemorrhoid cream like Hemo Trix claims to cure haemorrhoids. But, due to the lack of complete information about its ingredients, its effectiveness cannot be verified.
Multiple studies refute claims that you can cure piles in one day, which emphasises the gradual nature of effective treatment. A 2011 study on Apamarga Kshara Basti and Triphalaguggulu showed significant relief within 7 days. However, full treatment took 6 weeks. Similarly, a 2021 study on Sapta Winsati Guggulu reported improvement after 28 days. Another study from 2015 on the “Arshkeyt™ 7 day kit” showed symptom relief by day 14, but no immediate cure. These studies highlight that Ayurvedic remedies provide gradual relief, not quick fixes.
Dr Almas Fatma, MBBS, Diploma in Family Medicine, PG in Digital Heath, a General Physician based in Navi Mumbai shares her expert insights on this claim. She says, “Natural remedies like warm baths, aloe vera, and dietary changes can offer relief for mild piles. But, they aren’t enough to fully treat grade 4 piles, which are severe and often painful. Natural remedies can provide some relief from symptoms of piles (haemorrhoids), such as soothing inflammation and improving bowel movements. However, in more severe cases like grade 4 piles, where the haemorrhoids are prolapsed and cannot be manually pushed back, medical or surgical treatments are essential. Grade 4 piles often require interventions like rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, or hemorrhoidectomy. These options are far more effective in addressing the root cause and preventing complications.”
Dr Fatma further states, “Natural remedies can help ease discomfort but are not a substitute for the effective medical treatments. In short, natural remedies can complement medical care but cannot replace advanced treatments, especially for grade 4 piles.”
Are Ayurvedic remedies like the Piles Matrix kit safe and effective?
The post on Facebook is promoting the Piles Matrix kit as natural, GMO-free, and free from harmful substances like heavy metals, pesticides, and steroids, making it seem safe for consumers. However, safety doesn’t guarantee effectiveness. Some ingredients may help with mild symptoms like itching or inflammation, but there’s no scientific proof that this kit can quickly or completely heal piles. Relying solely on this product could delay necessary treatment, especially for severe cases.
What is the right approach to treating piles?
For most people, mild cases of piles can be managed with lifestyle changes like a high fibre diet, staying hydrated, and avoiding prolonged sitting. Over-the-counter creams and medications can also provide symptom relief. If piles are causing significant discomfort, bleeding, or do not improve with home care, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional.
In more severe cases, medical interventions like minimally invasive procedures (rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy) or surgery may be necessary. Rigorous long-term research has proven these treatments to be effective and capable of providing long-term relief.
THIP Media Take
The claim that the Piles Matrix kit can heal piles and stop bleeding in just one day is mostly false. The ingredients in the kit may help reduce symptoms over time. However, there is no scientific evidence to support the idea that it can cure piles or stop bleeding within such a short timeframe like one day. For those suffering from piles, the best approach is to seek advice from a healthcare provider who can recommend proven and effective treatments based on the severity of the condition.
