| - A photograph showing hoardings with the number 420 and an encircled question mark, put up along pillars on a road, is being shared on social media.
The claim: The photo is being shared to claim that it shows advertisements put up along metro pillars in Hyderabad, to question Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's and the Congress' 420 poll promises.
This comes amid protests against the Reddy-led Congress government's alleged failure to make good on 420 poll promises, by the Bharatiya Rastra Samithi (BRS) on 30 January.
How did we find out the truth?: We noticed some issues in the viral image, which indicated that it may be an edited photograph.
On both hoardings, the content appeared to be spilling out of their borders.
Additionally, one of them shows content under the white base of the advertisement.
Next, we ran a reverse image search on the viral image using Google's reverse image search feature.
This led us to a photograph on an advertising agency Leadspace's website, which had first shared the photograph while offering services to advertise along metro pillars in Hyderabad.
In this photo, we noticed the same motorcycle rider and woman crossing the road, which confirmed that it was the same photograph.
Additionally, this photograph showed metro pillars marked with the numbers C1768 and C1769.
Here, we saw that the hoardings originally showed ads for ride-hailing platform Rapido and not a question mark and the number '420'.
Google Maps' street view from May 2022 also shows the same advertisements along those specific metro pillars in Hyderabad.
Conclusion: An altered image is being shared to claim that posters questioning the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in Hyderabad, Telangana.
