An image of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Hema Malini is going viral on social media platforms as a recent visual.
What's the claim?: The picture is being circulated with a claim that it shows CM Adityanath recently celebrating Eid at Naqvi's residence.
What are the facts?: The image actually dates back to November 2021, when CM Adityanath had inaugurated the Braj Raj Mahotsav and Hunar Haat at Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. This makes the claim false.
How did we find that out?: A simple reverse image search directed us to a similar visual published in a report by The Indian Express on 11 November 2021.
It mentioned that UP CM Yogi Adityanath had inaugurated Braj Raj Mahotsav and Hunar Haat at Vrindavan, which was a 10-day event that hosted around 400 artisans and craftsmen from different parts of the country.
The report further said that the chief minister shared a meal with sadhus from Vrindavan and Mathura regions before the ceremony started.
The image in the report showed CM Adityanath sitting with Naqvi and Malini.
Other sources: United News of India (UNI) had shared the same visual (as seen in the viral post) on their official X handle on 10 November 2021.
Its caption said, "Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, and Mathura MP and Bollywood veteran Hema Malini enjoys '#lithi-chokha' during #ChhathPooja celebrations at Hunar Haat in #Mathura."
Naqvi, too, had shared images from the event on his official Facebook handle on 10 November 2021.
Conclusion: It is evident that the image is old and unrelated to Eid 2025.
