The Claim
A social media article published by a media outlet called The People’s Voice claimed that Dr. Anthony Stephen Fauci recommends mandatory lockdown for all unvaccinated individuals. Dr. Fauci recognized as an American physician-scientist and immunologist, held the position of director at the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1984 to 2022. Additionally, he served as the chief medical advisor to the president during the period spanning from 2021 to 2022.

Did Fauci say that all unvaccinated people must be on lockdown?
No. Dr. Anthony Fauci did not say that all unvaccinated people must be on lockdown. We found no credible published evidence that can confirm the claim made by the media website.
We researched and found that The People’s Voice article refers to another article titled ‘Fauci declares lockdowns were absolutely justified’ published on another media website named Dossier.today. This article claims that lockdowns should be used again to force vaccinations.
Both of these articles had a link to a real video called ‘Pandemic Lessons and Role of Faculty in Pandemic Preparedness with Dr. Anthony Fauci’. It was published on YouTube by Wayne State University in Michigan on August 15, 2023. This video was about a talk between Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Teena Chopra. They discussed lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic and how schools can be prepared for pandemics.
We watched the video but could not find any part where Fauci said “all unvaccinated citizens must be locked down this winter.” In fact, he didn’t even mention the words “winter,” “unvaccinated,” or “citizens” in the video.
There’s no proof or trustworthy source that supports the idea that Fauci said this. The quote that people are talking about doesn’t seem to be something he actually said. We searched on Google News using important keywords from this topic, and we couldn’t find any reliable news reports that confirmed what the article was saying. If Fauci had really said something like this, it would have been big news, and real news reports would have covered it.
On the contrary, we researched and found that The People’s Voice website is known for sharing stories that don’t have any scientific proof. We’ve also found evidence that this website, which used to be called Newspunch, has been spreading false information for a long time. They often share stories that aren’t true such as Covid vaccine is killing more people of colour than white people and the Dutch are euthanizing people without their consent. Recently, it published another article claiming that Bill Gates’ lab-grown meat causes cancer.
One of claims said that the authorities in France are going to stop Covid-19 unvaccinated citizens from buying food and groceries and another fake post claimed that people can earn $2500 for every unvaccinated people they report to the authorities.
A false social media post was published reporting the Canadian Prime Minister is encouraging people to socially boycott unvaccinated people.
