Fact Check
Photograph of Benjamin Netanyahu sending his son to the army to fight the war against Hamas. The archive link of the post can be seen here.
Newschecker conducted a reverse image search on the viral image which led us to several reports from 2014 featuring the same viral image.
A report in The Jerusalem Post, published on December 30, 2014, showing the same image, clarifies that Netanyahu’s son Avner was enlisted in the IDF in December 2014. The caption claims that it showed “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sends off his son to the army.”
A Times of Israel report, published on December 1, 2014, carried the same image. It’s caption reads “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, seen with their son Avner, at Jerusalem’s Ammunition Hill on December 01, 2014. (Photo credit: Kobi Gideon/GPO)”.
The report further detailed on Netnayahu’s son arriving for the induction into the army with his parents.
Thus, we find that the image showing Netanyahu sending his son to the Army is not recent and is from 2014.
