  • FACT CHECK: Does This Video Show A Russian Fuel Convoy Destroyed In Kherson? A video shared on Facebook allegedly shows a Russian fuel convoy being destroyed by Ukrainian forces in Kherson. Verdict: False The footage is from a military-based simulation game. Fact Check: Russia withdrew from Kherson in early November after a Ukrainian counteroffensive, according to The Associated Press. Russia has also hit oil depots in Kherson, while Ukraine has begun reconstruction efforts in the town, the outlet reported. The Facebook video, viewed more than 10,000 times, claims to show a Russian fuel convoy destroyed in Kherson. The video caption reads, “Today, Russian Huge Fuel Supplies Were Vanished By Ukraine Near Kherson.” This claim, though, is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found the video was posted to YouTube Nov. 13 with the same title. The Facebook video shows footage from ARMA 3, a simulation-based video game published by Bohemia Interactive. “It’s Arma 3 Gameplay video,” reads the video’s description. The user has also published other ARMA 3 videos on their YouTube channel. Many of the troops that were withdrawn from Kherson have been sent to other sectors of the conflict, the New Voice of Ukraine reported. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that the Ukrainian military repelled 100 Russian attacks on Nov. 19 in the Donetsk region, according to Reuters. There are currently no credible news reports suggesting any attacks against Russian fuel convoys or fields have recently taken place. However, Russia has threatened Moldova with reduced gas supplies over claims supplies had been withheld by Ukraine. Check Your Fact recently debunked a video claiming that billionaire Elon Musk helped destroy a Russian aircraft carrier.
